Let’s go to dance tango
Who is Keila?
I'm Keila. I was born in Lanus, Buenos Aires. Since I was a child, I have loved tango. The first time I danced, it was my grandparents who taught me the first steps of tango. I was 5 years old, and we put on a little show for my family with my cousin. So yes, the first time I danced tango was with a woman, but in that case, she led me. Now, I dance both roles, and I have been teaching since 2019.

My history
2019
I moved to Barcelona, where I lived for almost 5 years. In this vibrant city, many renowned tango teachers reside, and I continued my studies while simultaneously teaching Tango classes. Towards the end of that year, I met Ariadna Zaehsndorf. It was amazing how we connected, and we performed our first show in Barcelona in December 2019.
2020 /2021
When the lockdown ended, we started a small milonga called La Despeinada in Barcelona. This milonga grew year by year, attracting tango dancers and musicians who participated and shared their art. Meanwhile, we continued to grow the tango community with regular classes.
2022
In the first few months, during a three-month visit back to Argentina, I began playing music for milongas. I discovered it was very enjoyable, and I loved selecting the music for the night and observing people's preferences for different orchestras in various cities.
Upon returning to Barcelona with Ariadna, we began touring Europe as a female couple, visiting cities such as London, Paris, Vienna, Pamplona, Turin, Rome, Catania, Florence, Genoa, Marseille, Zurich, Geneva, and more.
2023
We returned together to Buenos Aires, where we performed a few shows for the first time as a couple. Upon returning to Barcelona, we had to move the milonga to a larger venue, and we organized the Barcelona Queer Tango Festival in November. Over 250 people from 25 different cities attended, representing almost every part of the Queer Tango Community. It was an amazing event for the Queer Community, which is smaller than traditional tango, and the first edition exceeded our expectations.
2024
In April 2024, I moved to Turin, Italy, to start a new chapter in my life while continuing to pursue my passion for Tango. With Ariadna, I also organized the first edition of the La Despeinada Tango Marathon in Barcelona and continued our tour across Europe.
I believe in an inclusive traditional tango for all and actively work towards that goal.
